Forest School & SEAL
Fifteen schools comprising of 12 Primary, 2 Junior and 1 Infant. Numbers on role ranging 153-338 pupils.
Location: Newport, Torfaen and Monmouthshire LA’s.
FSM ranging from approximately 15%-48%.
Small intervention groups were organised to undertake an environmental and values education projects/activities. Forest School was deployed to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences to develop intrinsic motivation, sound emotional and social skills. Social Emotional Aspects of Learning Programme (SEAL) which focused on five social and emotional aspects of learning, self awareness, management of feelings, motivation, empathy and social skills.
