St Thomas Primary school: A Case Study St. Thomas Primary School is a 300 children Primary School located on the eastside of Swansea.  According to the latest statistics, 83% of our children come from properties that are considered to be within the 30% most deprived in Wales.

The schools utilised available RAISE funding to embed a sustainable model of parental engagement that operates in a clear, coherent manner to bring about meaningful learning opportunities within the home and community.

Parents regularly attend school to experience lessons alongside their children.  In addition, parents spend time in focused groups with teachers in order that teaching and learning methodologies utilised within the home mirror those used in school.  The school has also actively developed the community license software on the school website so that parents have access to a wide range of password protected high quality of software either within the home or for those without internet access within the library.
