Darren Thomas, the Deputy Head at Pantysgallog Primary School and the teacher of Year 6, works with the reception class in this clip focusing on rewards.Darren Thomas, the teacher in this clip introduces this theme with a group of children by passing rewards around a circle, a clap, a smile, a ‘thumbs up’ and a ‘high five.’
The group then discuss what they think of as rewards? What rewards do we get in school? What does your class teacher use? Have you ever received a reward? What type of things might you do which deserve a reward?
The children then are given a circle on a piece of paper. They think of a reason for an award and then design an award of their own. The children share their work with one another.
The group finish by repeating their ‘ROUND’ which was used to start the lesson.
